An awesome friend of mine recently started blogging again (to my great joy – being the big blogaholic that I am) and one of her first posts was one of those lists of questions. It didn’t take much nudging – none, to be honest – for me to happily answer them, so here goes! (Complimentary translations included, this blog is written in deliberate Swenglish.)
1. FAVORITE GODIS (“candy”)?
I’m partial to salty licorice, sour bombs, brända mandlar – typical Swedish candy that sends most non-swedes into fits of gagging and crying. But in a pickle, I’ll eat anything. Paper and grass included.
2. TELL ME SOMETHING NEW.
The “stomp-stomp-clap” in Queen’s “We Will Rock You” wasn’t part of the original song. It was added to match what the crowd did during early performances of the song.
4. HAVE YOU EVER BAKED SURDEG (“sour dough”) AND HOW DID IT FEEL?
Does scones count, if they turn out delicious? No? Well then, no. No I have not.
6. HOW ARE YOU?
I am… really good. There has been ups and downs and backs and forths and a bit of heartbreak mixed in there, but right now I’m feeling very zen. Very present. Very hopeful.
