After doing some post-production, involuntary soul searching (these courses will do that to you), I’ve come to realize that studying by correspondence is very different from theater in general, and ACC in particular. It might even be the anti-ACC.
You’re sitting by your computer, working by yourself, tap-tap-tapping away. Add a citation, add a note, add to your methodology. And in the end: it’s just words, all just words no one really cares about. The professor reads it, your class-mates skims it – if you’re lucky. At the end of the day, it feels you have accomplished nothing, at least nothing tangible. I know it’s supposed to prepare me for the boss, the final form, the thesis, but mostly it just feels like I’m repeating the same things over and over again. If you don’t – you fail.
